music (samohlasen)

At "O Lord, I have cried", there are three stichera for the holy martyr.

Tone 4, special melody Jako dobl'a.  You were an invincible commander, a valiant athlete, and a universal beacon, illumining the ends of the world with the dawning of your miracles and dispelling the heavy darkness of the demons, O great Sabbas, adornment of martyrs, fellow citizen of the holy incorporeal ones, who pray for our souls.

Incarcerated in prisons, burned with fire, tortured with many torments, torn asunder upon a tree, afflicted with winter's cold, and unceasingly inflicted with frequent wounds, you remained unshaken, O athlete, receiving with fervor a blessed end in the waters.

marveled at by all; you fearlessly set yourself apart for the labors of suffering, and with your holy and great struggles you raised up standards of victory against all enemies. Therefore, O all-wondrous one, we honor you in praise.

Glory, now and ever – Theotokion, or Stavrotheotokion

Troparion,  Tone 5. Casting off the robes of dignity and honor, O martyr, * you confessed Christ before the torturer, the evil king. * For this you were subjected to great suffering, O glorious one, * and you obtained a crown of victory from the King of all. * You have been placed among heaven's legions. * Therefore, pray for the salvation of our souls, O Sabbas.
