Some years ago, the MCI distributed for trial use a set of harmonizations in four parts (soprano, alto, tenor, and bass) for the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom. We are currently revising these slightly and will be re-releasing them, to support parishes with a group of experienced (or willing!) singers who want to expand the sound of congregational singing in their parishes.
In the meantime, we are releasing two harmonizations of the Liturgy for the Presanctified Gifts, acording to the official 2010 books:
Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts (four part mixed voices)
Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts (three part men’s voices)
I am currently typesetting a harmonization for the B version of anaphora for the Divine Liturgy of Saint Basil for the Sundays in the Great Fast. If you have comments on our existing harmonizations, or requests for harmonizations for other services, please send them to firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible!
These are NOT meant to replace congregational singing, but enhance it, and are generally meant to be compatible with the sort of natural harmony traditionally sung in our parishes.
