music (samohlasen)

At "O Lord, I have cried", there are three stichera for the holy martyrs.

Tone 4, special melody Zvannyj svyše byv.  O victorious martyrs, * in these latter days, you have risen like unsetting stars * in the firmament of the Church. * With the splendor of your struggles, * you have given light to the world, * scattering the shadows of error. * Now you have passed into the eternal Light. * Thus, we the faithful celebrate your radiant and holy exploits, * for we are always enriched by your watchful protection.

Dragged away by force, * O witnesses of Christ, * you were shackled and thrown into a dungeon. * Captives together for many years, * you were true guardians of the Faith. * In his savage fury, a tyrant ordered you put to death by the sword * for not having yielded to his wicked oaths. * But, O far-famed forty-two martyrs, * you have joyfully inherited the Kingdom on high.

Let us loudly acclaim * the divine assembly of combatants, * including Constantine and Callistus, * as well as Bassoi, Theophilus, * Theodore and the other martyrs. * They preferred a joyous immolation for the sake of the Life of all; * and they found eternal rest * in the City of the living God. * They continually pray for us, * so that on the day of judgment * we might receive forgiveness of sins and perfect redemption.

Glory, now and ever – Theotokion, or Stavrotheotokion

Troparion,  Tone 4.  Your holy martyrs, O Lord our God, * in their struggles, received an incorruptible crown from you. * With your strength, they brought down the tyrants * and broke the cowardly valor of demons. * Through their prayers, O Christ our God, save our souls.
